About Nritarutya.

Founded in 2000, Nritarutya is a contemporary Indian dance company that speaks to the world through movement — blending visual storytelling, performance art, and choreography for stage and film.

Innovation is our heartbeat. Rooted in India’s classical and folk traditions yet unbound by them, our work explores the intersections of culture, identity, and imagination. We move between the ancient and the avant-garde — where every gesture becomes a bridge between heritage and the modern world.

Under the artistic direction of Mayuri Upadhya, Nritarutya was envisioned as a space for artists who think, question, and dream through dance, Nritarutya creates works that engage global audiences with themes both universal and deeply personal.

Through performances, collaborations, and educational initiatives, our stories have travelled across continents — from India to Europe, the USA, and the Middle East — transcending language through the power of the body in motion.

At the heart of Nritarutya is a collective of exceptional dancers — storytellers who sculpt emotion into form and rhythm into revelation. Their artistry transforms movement into a living dialogue between the self and the world.

Nritarutya is not just about dance — it is a contemporary language of connection, creativity, and cultural evolution.
